Introducing the HRS160 Hybrid Mounting System

The HRS160 is an innovative hybrid solar racking system designed for the installation PV Modules onto flat or pitched roof applications. This unique racking design allows the installer to mount the rails in a standard or shared rail configuration. Install in standard configuration by placing two rail under each solar panel row. To save on material, roof penetrations and labor install in shared configuration with the proprietary rail clip. A shared configuration combined with the Solar SpeedFoot product can reduce roof penetrations up to 60%. On July 13th, 2016, SSR will unveil this product at Intercontinental Hotel in San Francisco.  The HRS160 offers the following advantages over its competition:

  • Adjustable end and mid clamps with integrated grounding
  • Zero splice bar limitations (no equation to follow)
  • Strong and lightweight Rail with better spans
  • Symmetrical for versatility and mounting options
  • Substantial reduction in roof penetrations

The HRS 160 Racking System is PE and UL Certified.

2012 International Building Code (IBC) Referencing the 2010 Minimum Design Loads for Buildings and Other Structures by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE 7-10) including all supplements and errata. UL 2703, UL1703 and UL467, This racking system may be used to ground and/or mount a PV module complying with UL 1703 only when the specific module has been evaluated for grounding and/or mounting in compliance with the included instructions.HRS160

SSR GroundMount Certified to 200MPH

SSR GroundMount Certified to 200MPH

Solar SpeedRack Inc. (SSR) announced today that its GroundMount system has been rated to withstand wind speeds of up to 200 miles per hour making it ideal for hurricane and high wind zones.

“Several months ago we were asked to develop a Ground Mount capable of withstanding high wind speeds” said Shane Shamloo, President and CEO.

The product utilized SSR’s innovative Solar GroundMount installation techniques with all installation taking place from under the arrays making it not only one of the fastest, but also one of the easiest and safest Ground Mount systems to assemble and install.

“This project utilized our standard GroundMount components further demonstrating the strength of our base and insertion rails” said Michael Salvati, Vice President Design and Development, “and again shows the flexibility and robustness of our designs.”

This version of the SSR GroundMount is designed for residential and small commercial projects.  The SSR residential ground mount uses 2 ½ inch Schedule 40 galvanized pipe as compared to the 1 ½ inch pipe used in most other systems. This system also differs from most of the other systems on the market as SSR ships a complete system including the ground anchors and standard length pre-fabricated pipe required in addition to the racking required to complete the project.  SSR residential ground mounts differ in that a minimal amount of cross bracing in required for installation and its longer spans reduce the number of ground anchors and pipe required.  SSR also provides customers a choice of ground anchors or helical screws to accommodate differing soil conditions.

“Our residential ground mount is another example of our approach to make things easier and faster for the installer”, said Mr. Shamloo, “and providing the complete foundation and racking package reduces the need for the installer to coordinate multiple sources for the components needs to complete the project.”

Solar SpeedRack Inc. Announces Strategic Partnership with Prism Solar

SSR-Prism-Logo

Costa Mesa– October 8, 2014

Solar SpeedRack Inc. announces a strategic partnership with Prism Solar Technologies for development of a PV racking system for use with their frameless bifacial solar modules.

Solar SpeedTrack™ is an innovative universal track system designed for flat roof installations, this system is designed to reduce the cost, time, and hardware used in the installation of solar systems. Solar SpeedTrack™ fits Frameless solar panels and all standard PV panel sizes with thicknesses between 30mm to 50mm, requires little to no tools or additional parts for installation.

“This agreement represents another step in recognizing the potential of the innovation and labor savings across all of our product lines” said Shane Shamloo President and CEO.

“When combining our bifacial modules with a highly reflective roof, they can become the most efficient solar modules available. Preventing shading to the back of the module improves the energy output, so the racking is a key component of the system design for bifacial modules. With this partnership, Solar Speed Rack has created an industry leading rack design that will allow our modules to reach their optimal performance“, reports Jerry Hughes, Director of Sales at Prism.

This product along with other product offerings will on display in booth #3309 at Solar Power International to be held October 20th to 23rd in Las Vegas.

Solar SpeedRack Inc. Announces Completion of 1MW Project | Costa Mesa– August 26th, 2014

Solar SpeedRack Inc. announces the successful completion of a 1MW ground mount project.  The project is the first application of the recently announced GroundMount ™ racking system.  GroundMount™ is one of the only shared rail systems currently commercially available and unique that it is adjustable to panel size and self-grounded.

“We are very pleased with the results of this breakthrough product for use in ground mount applications”, said Shane Shamloo, President and CEO.

GroundMount™ is part of the family of Solar SpeedRack products all of which share the following characteristics:

  • Shared Rails reduces material required
  • Self-Grounded
  • Adjustable to fit over 95% of panels currently on the market
  • Fully assembled and clamp-less installation
  • No specialized tools required

In addition, the rail adjustment mechanism for GroundMount™ is on the bottom of the rail assembly thus eliminating the need for installers to walk on the panels thus significantly reducing the risk of damage to the panels during installation.

“The ease and speed of the installation of the racking system and PV modules was beyond our expectations”, said David Sylvester, Project Manager for Barrier Solar.

“The successful completion of this project has resulted in an additional order for a 500KW project”, added Mr. Shamloo, “and we are confident that this will lead us to an expanded presence in the ground mount market.”

This product along with other product offerings will on display at Solar Power International to be held in Las Vegas in October.
